IS MY PICKUP AND DELIVERY TIME GUARANTEED?
No. There are many variables that can affect your pickup and delivery time including weather, traffic, mandatory DOT inspections (i.e. the signs you see on major highways for weigh stations which all trucks are required to stop at), mechanical failures and other delays. Keep in mind that motor carriers have restrictions on their daily on duty time, so being delayed by only two hours sets the driver back some 100 - 150 miles on his/her schedule for the day. These are obstacles every commercial truck on the road faces.
Your Sharp Auto Transport account manager will be the liaison between the driver of the carrier transporting your vehicle and you. He/She will continuously monitor the progress of the transport of your vehicle and keep you abreast of any unforeseen delays that may occur. We manage the entire process for you and pride ourselves on our communication with our customers. We never avoid calls and we always tell the truth.

IS THE TRANSPORT OF MY VEHICLE INSURED?
Absolutely. Any carrier Sharp Auto Transport assigns to pick up and deliver your vehicle will hold active insurance coverage which covers your vehicle against any driver oversight. We permanently keep on file proof of insurance for any carrier we work with. The president of Sharp Auto Transport personally monitors this process and verifies with the insurance agent active coverage before any vehicle is assigned to any truck.
Liability through the shipping process is managed by a document called a Bill of Lading. This document is filled out by the driver and signed by a witness at the pickup location. The driver will inspect the vehicle for any scratches, dents or other damage to the outside of the vehicle before loading the vehicle onto his/her truck. He/She will do the same upon delivery of the vehicle, which also needs to be signed by a witness. Any differences in damage to the vehicle between the two Bill of Lading is the responsibility of the carrier. The Bill of Lading is the sole document governing any insurance claims process, so please take care in verifying the information the driver documents before signing.
Should you experience one of the rare instances of damage to your vehicle, you are not on your own. Your Sharp Auto Transport account manager will actively consult with you on your options and help you, in a proactive way, manage the claims process.
IS PICKUP AND DELIVERY PROVIDED DOOR-TO-DOOR?
Yes. The only times pickup or delivery would not be provided directly to your lot or driveway is at your request or if physical or legal restrictions prohibit the truck reaching you. If this is the case, we will help you coordinate with the driver to meet at a suitable nearby location.
WILL MY VEHICLE BE STORED AT A TERMINAL OR STORAGE YARD?
In the overwhelming majority of situations, no it will not. The ideal situation is the truck picking up your vehicle will be the truck delivering your vehicle to you.
Should circumstances warrant a terminal or storage yard being utilized to facilitate the appropriate service to you, your Sharp Auto Transport account manager will explicitly consult with you. Additional fees may apply.

WHAT EXTRA FEES WILL I BE CHARGED?
None. There are no insurance fees, loading fees, unloading fees, fuel fees or any other fees associated with your costs for transport within the continental 48 states. In the rare occurance that you and your account manager decide it is best to have your car stored at a terminal or storage yard, those storage costs are passed on to you.
DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO BE PRESENT AT PICKUP AND/OR TO RECIEVE THE CAR?
Yes. It is crucial to the process that you or someone of your designation be present at pickup and delivery to sign the Bill of Lading. Without a signed Bill of Lading, the viability of insurance coverage could be impacted. If this is not possible, please consult with your Sharp Auto Transport account manager and we will help.
CAN I PUT PERSONAL ITEMS IN MY CAR PRIOR TO TRANSPORT?
You can put less than 100 lbs. of items in the trunk of your vehicle. The interior of your vehicle should be relatively clean and free of any items not associated with your vehicle. If you pack your car with items, it is the discression of the driver whether he will accept your vehicle onto his truck.

DOES SHARP AUTO TRANSPORT TAKE A DEPOSIT WHEN BOOKING?
Some of our less reputable competitors will take between $100 and $200 as a deposit on the day you ask them to schedule transport of your vehicle. Only then will they begin working on a schedule for pickup and delivery. Sharp Auto Transport does things a bit differently. We only take a deposit after we have given you a schedule for pickup and delivery that you have approved. We don't take a dime from you until we have a plan in place for transport of your vehicle.
Should you decide to cancel your transport after you have approved a pickup and delivery schedule, a $100 service fee applies.
